Cryptocurrency markets fluctuate between gains and losses as Bitcoin rises


The cryptocurrency markets witnessed notable fluctuations today, Monday, October fourteenth, with gains and losses across different currencies leveling out. Bitcoin saw modest gains of around two percent on international exchanges, with its value rising to $64,260 after hovering around $60,576 last week.

As for Ethereum, the second most expensive cryptocurrency after Bitcoin, it recorded slight price decreases. At the time of writing this report, Ether was trading at $2,526 in global markets, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Many other currencies like Binance Coin, USD Coin, Dogecoin, and Tron experienced significant gains alongside Bitcoin. Cardano, WETH, Near Protocol, Leo, and Cosmos also joined the list of winning currencies, being in the green side of the cryptocurrency chart.

The overall market capitalization of cryptocurrencies has surged by over two percent in the past twenty-four hours. According to CoinMarketCap data, the total value of this sector reached $2.24 trillion at the time of writing the report. On the other hand, currencies like Solana, Ripple, Shiba Inu, Polkadot, Stellar, and Cronos experienced slight losses on Monday.

Prices of Polygon, Bitcoin SV, Neo Coin, Iota, and Flex were also affected by declines, reflecting the prevailing market volatility. With the upcoming US elections, analysts expect the markets to remain volatile for the next few days, adding more pressure on investors and traders.
