ChatGPT Chat starts displaying ads in Bing search results

If you think that Microsoft did not plan to capitalize on the spread and popularity of Bing since integrating the GPT-4 language model from OpenAI, you would be very wrong. After attracting millions of users from around the world who already use the search engine with integrated chat, Microsoft has now decided to include ads in results generated by artificial intelligence, as recently discovered.

Although Microsoft has not commented on this matter, thanks to several leaked screenshots, we have been able to see how ads appear in Bing Chat results from now on.

The fact is that ads reaching Bing Chat was just a matter of time. The company itself already revealed at the time of launching this product that chat-generated results opened up a new path for advertisers, a more direct path to potential consumers, which, according to Microsoft, will allow them to reimagine advertising experiences.

However, we have not yet started to see ads labeled in this way in Bing Chat-generated results. In shared screenshots, you can see an “Ad” indicator next to some data provided by Microsoft’s artificial intelligence.

Many Bing Chat users have pointed out that the ads indicator has been active for some time, both on desktop and mobile versions of Bing and Edge. Currently, it is not clear what the size of the ads that will appear in the results, nor their variety when it comes to product recommendations, services, or brands. Microsoft confirmed that it is a project in development and they continue to “explore new opportunities” in this regard.

– This way you can access the new Bing Chat on your Android and computer to answer any questions you have before anyone else
