The original map in Fortnite was beloved by all, and it wasn’t just a simple nostalgia. Fortnite has continued to be successful for over 7 years as a Battle Royale game, and as the game evolves, so does the map. However, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and rewind time to recapture the nostalgia that made the game successful in the first place with locations and key points from the first chapter.
With Fortnite OG and Fortnite Reloaded, there’s always a chance for some of the best locations from the first chapter of Fortnite to make a comeback. After more than 5 years of players missing the first chapter map, why not bring back some of the best locations so that both old and new players can battle in places that feel like “home” to them?
Anarchy Acres
A large farm that knows no peace
First Appearance: Chapter One, Season One
Last Appearance: Chapter One, Season Four
Anarchy Acres is for the true old-school pros. This area was originally part of the map and appeared in the early seasons of Chapter One, lasting until the end of season four before being replaced by Lazy Links in season five. Despite its disappearance, Anarchy Acres remained in the hearts of many. It was a somewhat quiet landing spot, a position-based location where players were always competing for hotspots in the area.
Whether it was fighting over the big barn, the White House, or hiding behind the silo, there was plenty of loot for everyone at Anarchy Acres. While not as popular as its twin location Frenzy Fields, it was definitely worth remembering for its simplicity.
Wailing Woods
A mysterious forest that provides plenty of cover

Wailing Woods also had great staying power, appearing throughout Chapter One from the first season until the eighth season. Not only was this forest a beloved classic due to its greenery, but it was also a great place for intense situations. Players could hide among the trees and disappear into the shrub maze, giving them the opportunity to either escape their enemies or ambush a player hidden with a shotgun.
Wailing Woods was a tension-filled location in the final storm circle, where players used the sturdy trees as cover and tried to snipe each other from around the trunks. Many matches could be won in Wailing Woods, especially for players who used the trees as cover to escape the chaos and fierce battles.
Greasy Grove
A residential area with battles on the roofs

The list of points of interest in Fortnite is incomplete without mentioning one of the most famous food chains in the game. Greasy Grove was home to the Durrr Burger chain and the Tacos restaurant, but true old-school players remember when Durrr Burger was dominant. In Greasy Grove, players always landed here hoping to find some valuable loot in the many houses and in the restaurant itself.
Battles always ended in the same way, with players fighting from a distance across the rooftops they considered their base. There was plenty to enjoy in Greasy Grove, and the great potential for loot and kills made landing here always worth the adventure.
Moisty Mire
Dangerous swamps with many hiding spots

Moisty Mire may not have been the most attractive location in the first chapter of Fortnite, but it was certainly useful for dealing with some situations. In Moisty Mire, players could leverage the swamps to their advantage, even using appropriate gestures to hide under the water, allowing them to remain invisible until an unlucky enemy passed by.
Moisty Mire saw some modifications throughout the seasons it appeared in, providing players with an excellent spot to get loot away from battles. Thanks to the trees and elevations, Moisty Mire could become a perfect spot for those playing in Zero Build mode and wanting to stay safe away from the ongoing war in Battle Royale.
Viking Village
An intense and isolated location on a dangerous mountain

Last Appearance: Chapter One, Season Ten
Viking Village may have been a notorious landing spot, but there was always a good reason to go there. With the evolution of Chapter One, Viking Village underwent some design changes that made it worth visiting. One of the highlights of these modifications was the large Viking boat in the center that was swaying over the waterfall. If players broke the floor, it would definitely lead to their demise, but the loot was always worth the risk.
The village was small and isolated from other areas, making climbing up to it difficult, as well as descending from it, especially if players had the ice boots effect that made them slide in the area. Players could feel somewhat safe while waiting for victims trying to climb, but first they had to face the few who landed in this quiet place.
The Volcano
Fight across the lava to claim the high ground
First Appearance: Chapter One, Season Eight
Last Appearance: Chapter Four, OG Season
If the final storm circle was at The Volcano and a player had already taken control of the high ground, it was game over. The volcano was a steep location, where players had to climb to gain the height advantage over their enemies. Controlling the summit was key to winning, as players from above could aim their weapons and shoot at isolated players who had no cover while trying to climb the volcano.
For those inside the volcano or even players on the other side, they might find themselves fighting over a river of volcanic lava that consumes their health and kills them. Many tense battles were fought at the volcano, so its return would indeed be a great event.
