British hacker, age 19, arrested for spreading fear in thousands of schools after publishing threatening messages about the presence of bombs and explosives.

British police have arrested a 19-year-old teenager who made bomb threats to thousands of schools and airline companies. This young man is a member of a hacker group calledSquad cybercriminal group. The teenager, George Duke-Cohan, was arrested in his bedroom at his family home in Watford by the National Crime Agency on August 31 last year. He faced three charges, the most serious being sending threatening messages about bombs in thousands of schools and airline companies. Duke-Cohan also contaminated over 24,000 emails in schools across the UK and the US, claiming that pipe bombs had been planted in the building and threatening to detonate the building within three hours if he was not paid a ransom of $5000.

For the first time, he caused panic in March of this year when he sent emails to thousands of schools in the UK warning of explosives, causing panic and chaos among students and teachers. Authorities evacuated more than 400 schools across the country.
Duke-Cohan was arrested in April last year and released after a period, only to return to his actions by sending another set of deceptive emails (24,000 emails overall) to schools in the US and the UK, claiming that pipe bombs had been planted in the building.
Duke-Cohan was arrested for the second time to make more threats but was released on bail with the condition of not using any electronic devices.

The teenager admitted to all the charges against him in a British court, confessing to spreading fake news about bomb threats in schools and airline companies. He is also believed to be extradited to the United States to face charges.
Duke-Cohan has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Luton Crown Court on September 21.
