Benefits you must know to maximize the advantages of Samsung Notes application.

Taking notes is part of our daily tasks. From jotting down daily tasks to writing notes and reminders in the fields of study, work, and even everyday life. That’s why in the technology era we live in, there is no smartphone without a notes app. But Samsung Notes app has come a long way; from having a few features to being a full-fledged note-taking app or even a document writing, editing, and sharing app.
While working on this topic, I noticed that the app is filled with hidden features that users should know about. Therefore, we will tell you about the top 14 features and tricks for using the Samsung Notes app on Samsung phones like a pro. 1- Creating a Reminder from Samsung Notes


The Samsung Notes app does not support built-in reminders. However, you can create reminders from within the app, and they will be added to the Samsung Reminders app. So, to create a reminder in the Samsung Notes app, open the note you want to create a reminder for without entering the note editing mode> then click on the three-dot icon at the top> and select “Add to Reminder” or “Send to Reminder”. You can then edit the reminder details by going to the Reminder app.

2- Creating Favorite Notes


Do you want quick access to some notes that you frequently refer to? Instead of searching for them, you can add them to the Favorites group, allowing you to access them quickly. So, to add a note as a favorite, click on it once from the notes list on the main screen> then click on the star icon at the top or click on the three dots and choose “Add to Favorites”. To view a featured note with a star or favorite, click on the icon (≡) on the main screen of the Notes app and go to Favorites.

3- Putting Favorites at the Top of Notes


Having a favorite notes section is a welcome step to quickly access notes. However, you still need to click multiple times to view these notes. To avoid that, you can enable a feature to place your favorite notes with stars above other notes on the main screen. To achieve this, click on the three-dot icon on the main screen> and press on “Sort”> then enable the toggle next to Pin Favorites to Top.

4- Categorizing Notes Using Folders


You should be familiar with creating and using folders in the Samsung Notes app. But most likely, you have overlooked the color coding feature and rearranging folders. When you add your note to different folders, you will see the color of the assigned category on the main screen of the app. This will help you easily identify different types of notes and distinguish between them. To add or change the color of the folder or category, click on the (≡) icon> and click on Manage Folders> from here, you can create new folders and change their color and label to easily distinguish them, you can also change the order of the folders by moving them through the arrows.

5- Recovering Deleted Notes


Accidentally deleted some important notes? Don’t worry. Using the Samsung Notes app, you can easily recover deleted notes within 15 days of deletion. To do this, click on the (≡) icon in the top corner of the app> and select Trash> then select the notes you want to restore and click on Restore. You can also empty the trash to free up space on your mobile phone.

6- Adding Favorite Pen


The app offers many shapes and sizes of pens to choose from when you are in writing mode. If you regularly use a specific pen, you can add it as a favorite pen. So, click on the writing icon on the note to open the writing panel> press on the pen icon at the bottom> choose the color, style, and size for your pen> then press on the star icon. To access favorite pens, click on the favorite icon in the bottom toolbar. You can even create a pen directly from the favorite section. Simply by clicking on the add icon.

7- Finding the Right Color for Your Pen


When you click on the pen icon, several colors will appear. If you are not satisfied with the options, click on the color palette icon to display the color spectrum. Alternatively, click on the colored dots to add complete color sets. Navigate between color sets to choose your color. You can even use the color picker to select a color from within your note. To do this, swipe left on the colors. And click on the dropper tool.

8- Changing the Eraser Mode


Most writing apps offer two types of eraser modes; line erasing and area erasing. Luckily, the Samsung Notes app does not disappoint. To change the eraser mode, double-click on the eraser icon in writing mode. Select the eraser mode, either “Line Eraser” to erase individually drawn lines, or “Area Eraser” to erase the clicked area on the drawing screen. With the ability to adjust the size of the eraser as needed. And as a pro tip: to erase everything on your writing panel, click on “Clear Note” to erase the entire page with ease.

9- Creating Layers Using the Selection Tool


After writing something, use the selection tool to perform different layer actions on the selected element. For example, you can move an element forward or backward individually. Similarly, you can change the text color using the style change option or increase its size or change its position. To execute these actions, press on the selection mode icon at the bottom> select the area> then press on style change or use the borders to change the style or position. Click on the three-dot icon in the menu that appears and choose Move Forward or Move Backward.

10- Using Samsung Notes App as a Text Editor


You can use this app to comment on images, draw, pdf, or even an audio file without installing any external affiliated app. Open the note and go to the editing mode. Click on the attachment icon at the top and choose your desired options. For example, if you choose an image, once added, click on the image to open and edit it, and if you change your mind you can delete it by clicking on the delete icon (-). Click on apply to save the changes and add text and format it as you like.

11- Sharing the Note in Different Formats


You can save and share your notes from the Samsung Notes app in different formats such as Image, PDF, Microsoft Word, or plain text file. So, Open the note from the notes list. Without going into editing mode, click on the share icon at the top> then select the share mode you choose.

12- Disabling Hyperlinks in Samsung Notes


When adding a URL in Samsung Notes, it is automatically turned into a clickable hyperlink. If you do not want URLs to appear in this way, you can disable hyperlinks so that they appear as regular text. To do this> open the left sidebar and click on the settings icon> turn off the toggle next to Show Links in Notes.

13- Changing the Shape and Template of Notes Pages


You can change the shape, color, and template of notes, and choose what suits you and according to the needs of the note you are writing. All you have to do is go to settings> Page Style and Layout> and choose the style between single pages or infinite scrolling page, along with choosing the template and color that suits you.

14- Tagging Notes with Hashtags


You can tag your notes by adding a hashtag (#) to each title, and then you can easily search for any note and find it quickly. Just go to the note you want to tag> click on the three dots> and choose “Add Tag”> write the tag you want> and then save.
