Battery drainage issue on iPhone 16 raises concerns among users after iOS 18 update
Recently, social media platforms and tech products have seen an increase in complaints from users of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro series regarding excessive battery drain, with speculations that the new operating system, iOS 18, is the main cause behind this drain.
These complaints started since the release of the beta version of iOS 18 and continued even after the stable final version was released. With the launch of the new generation of iPhones, the discussion about this issue has resurfaced even more.
According to multiple reports, the drain becomes apparent when the phones are in standby mode. Some users have reported their devices losing between 10 to 15 percent of battery charge overnight without the phone being actively used. This suggests that background processes may be the cause, leading to unjustified energy consumption.
The complaints were not limited to owners of iPhone 16 alone, but also included users of older versions running on iOS 18, further reinforcing the hypothesis that the cause lies with the system itself rather than just the devices.
Many affected users have made multiple attempts to solve this issue, including disabling some advanced features like ProMotion and Always-On Display, and even factory resetting the phone, but these solutions have not been effective for many.
Maintaining battery life is one of the main challenges facing users, and draining the battery without a clear reason intensifies this problem and makes it a major source of annoyance.
Apple is expected to release a new update, iOS 18.1, soon, which may include significant improvements in battery performance, as well as new artificial intelligence features, Apple Intelligence.
