Apple prepares to launch a new game store to enhance gaming experience on iPhone

In a move aimed at enhancing the gaming experience on iPhones, Apple is reportedly developing a dedicated game store for the iOS system. This step comes after recent system updates revealed the ability to run old game emulators, allowing users to play games from platforms like PlayStation, Nintendo, Sega, and Atari through the app store.

According to 9to5mac, it is expected that this store will be launched with the iOS 18 or iOS 19 updates, which may be released next year. The new store will be specifically designed for gaming enthusiasts, featuring player profiles, leaderboards, achievements, and tabs like “Play Now” for easy access to games and friends.

What sets the new store apart is the anticipated integration with apps like FaceTime and iMessage, allowing players to communicate directly during gaming sessions. The “App Clips” feature will also be integrated, enabling users to experience small games without the need for extensive storage space, enhancing the user experience.

The new store is expected to operate similarly to the Xbox app on iPhones, allowing players to track friends’ statuses and different activities. The Apple Arcade service offers a $7 monthly subscription, granting users access to a variety of games on various Apple devices.

With this new store, Apple aims to showcase the advanced capabilities of iPhones, as games will benefit from the powerful processors and integrated graphics in modern devices, providing a rich and seamless gaming experience for users.
