Anthrobic Company Develops “Artificial Intelligence Agents” to Perform Complex Tasks Like Humans
Anthropic, backed by Amazon, has announced a new achievement in the field of artificial intelligence, which involves the development of AI Agents capable of using computers to perform complex tasks like humans, according to a report from CNBC.
Anthropic is the developer of Claude, a well-known smart chatbot, competing with major companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft in the industrial AI race.
The new technology, part of the latest AI models, allows Claude agents to interpret what appears on the screen, choose buttons, input text, browse the internet, and execute tasks through any program.
Jared Kaplan, the company’s chief scientist, explained that this tool can perform tasks similarly to how we use a computer, even if they involve “tens or even hundreds of steps.”
Amazon has early access to the tool, and companies like Asana, Canva, and Notion have tested this feature. Anthropics plans to launch this feature for developers on a trial basis, with plans to open up usage to consumers and companies in the coming months.
Future consumer applications include booking trips, scheduling appointments, filling out forms, conducting online research, and submitting expense reports.
In doing so, Anthropic enters strong competition with other companies in the development of AI agents, as investors show increasing interest in companies building these technologies.
Anthropic also aims to strengthen its presence in the market, recently launching Claude Enterprise, a new service targeting companies seeking to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations. This service offers new capabilities such as document uploading and expanding understanding of broader data.
