Amazon Cancels God of War Series

The Running Man
Deadline reports that Josh Brolin is now in “final negotiations” to play the main villain “behind the violent reality show” in the new version of Edgar Wright’s film The Running Man.
Night Patrol
THR has word that Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, RJ Cyler, Dermot Mulroney, and CM Punk will star in the horror film Night Patrol, directed by Ryan Braud. The story revolves around an LAPD officer (Fowler) who “must put aside his differences with street gangs in the area when he discovers that a local police task force is hiding a horrific secret that puts the residents of the projects where he grew up in danger. The officer’s partner, recruited as a rookie in the night patrol. Siller plays the officer’s brother, who sees things he shouldn’t, while Mulroney plays Long’s character’s grandfather, a sergeant with many secrets. Punk assembles the cast as the sergeant’s ruthless right hand.
Amulet
Deadline also reports that Jason Fox (Welcome to Deerly) has been tapped to write a film based on Kazu Kibuishi’s graphic novel series, Amulet. The series follows “a young woman who discovers a magical amulet that belonged to her late grandfather and uses it to enter a new fantasy world.”

According to Deadline, The Day the Earth Exploded: Looney Tunes Movie is now set to be released in theaters on February 28, 2025.

Cobra Kai
For the Deadline, the last season of Cobra Kai has added Louis Tan, Patrick Lewis, and Reina Valandingham to the cast. While details about their characters are currently unavailable, Tan will play “Sensei Wolf,” Luwis will play “Axel Kovacevic,” and Vallandingham will play “Zara Malik.”
God of War
Deadline also notes that executive producers Rafe Judkins, Hawk Ostby, and Mark Fergus have left Amazon’s God of War series, prompting the broadcaster to “start fresh” on the project entirely.
