All these years and we still don’t know it… Windows Task Manager Developer explains some tips and shortcuts for professional use.
Plummer, who has already retired and left the company long ago, also wrote and created the Space Cadet Pinball port, worked with zip folders, the start menu, calculator, and various other things in Windows. Today, he continues to write code, but more than anything else on his YouTube channel as one of his hobbies.
The developer says that he developed Task Manager at his home around 1994, and although he was a beginner at the time, senior developers allowed him to include the project in the main development branch, so he was able to polish it to become an official part of Windows.
Task Manager remains an essential part of Windows to this day. For example, one of the tricks he explained is that if Task Manager stops working, you can start another task by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC, Windows will look for an existing instance and try to revive it for up to 10 seconds. If Task Manager does not respond through this shortcut at that time, another shortcut will be issued. This way, you will never be without Task Manager as long as some resources are available.”
