All Phones Getting the New Android 15 Update
With the official announcement by Google about Android 15 and our earlier coverage of the key features of the new Android version, users are increasingly interested in when the update will arrive on their phones. Despite the noticeable improvement in the speed of updates recently, Android still suffers from relative slowness in this regard. Therefore, it is important to know which devices will receive the Android 15 upgrade. Interestingly, most manufacturers are hesitant to provide accurate information about eligible phones for the update and the release schedules. As a result, we rely on a combination of available official data, past company update release records, and leaked information, if any. We will try to cover the complete list of phones eligible to receive the Android 15 update, but this list may see future modifications, either by adding new phones that were not expected to be upgraded, or excluding some phones from the update plans for some reason by the manufacturers.
Phones Eligible for the Android 15 Update
Google Pixel Phones that Have Received the Android 15 Update
Since Google develops the Android system itself and uses the stock version of it on its phones, it is no surprise that Google Pixel is one of the first phones to experience the new Android 15 version. As usual, the update was sent to Google phones supported as soon as the system was released. These phones are:
- Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- Pixel 8, 8 Pro
- Pixel 8a
- Pixel 7, 7 Pro
- Pixel 7a
- Pixel 6, 6 Pro
- Pixel 6a
- Pixel Fold
- Pixel Tablet
Interestingly, Google has modified its policy to support its phones for the longest possible period with major Android updates, starting from three years and extending up to 7 years for Google Pixel 8 phones, meaning users will receive Android updates until 2030. While such a support duration is quite normal compared to the long support duration for iPhone phones, it is uncommon in the world of Android.
Samsung Phones Likely to Receive the Android 15 Update
Despite being the largest Android phone manufacturer in the world, Samsung has a poor reputation when it comes to releasing major Android updates for its phones, or at least that was the case in the past. It usually delays in providing updates and rarely offers any information, and its mid-range and low-end phones may sometimes not receive any updates. But due to the fierce competition Samsung faces with other manufacturers, the company has recently revised its policy rigorously. With the launch of the Galaxy S24 lineup, the company promised seven years of updates for these phones and other upcoming devices from the flagship category, while phones from other categories will receive updates for a long period, up to 4 years.

There are many phones expected to receive the stable version of One UI 7 by the beginning of 2025, as announced by the company at the SDC24 developers conference. Xiaomi has already released preview versions of Android 15 for its flagship device Xiaomi 14, along with Xiaomi 13T Pro and its tablet Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (12.4-inch version only). However, the company has not yet announced the list of devices (in addition to those mentioned) that will receive the Android 15 updates, but we can speculate based on previous claims about the number of updates. These phones include the Xiaomi brand itself, as well as its sub-brands like Redmi and Poco, and they include:

While the company is not the fastest or most comprehensive in sending updates, it is far from being the worst and is actually one of the best at the moment considering its offering of cost-effective devices.

Nokia Phones Likely to Receive the Android 15 Update
Since Nokia re-entered the smartphone market, it has offered a variety of products. While some of the company’s phones have been remarkably successful, especially in the lower-end categories, the company has failed to regain its former status as one of the leading companies. This covers a wide range of phones belonging to the Chinese brand across the Reno, Find series, including:

This puts a number of devices in the race to adopt the Android 15 system as part of a future MagicOS update, including the following:
- Honor 200 and 200 Pro
- Honor 90
- Honor Magic V2
- Honor Magic Vs
- Honor Magic V Flip
- Honor Magic 6 Pro

Unfortunately, there is no official statement or announced roadmap from Infinix, and the update schedule does not look promising. However, it is expected that Infinix will upgrade only the latest two generations of its phones to the Android 15 version or XOS 15 UI interface.
