Alcon accuses Tesla and Warner Bros of violating its rights in a surprising manner

Alcon Entertainment, known for producing films and television shows, filed a lawsuit against Tesla and Warner Bros. Discovery. This move was made last Monday due to allegations that they used images related to the film “Blade Runner 2049” to promote Tesla’s new self-driving car.

The lawsuit, filed in California, accuses Tesla of violating the US copyright law. It also claims that Tesla misled the public by linking Alcon to Tesla’s car owned by businessman Elon Musk. Alcon stated in the lawsuit that “any serious brand considering a partnership with Tesla should take into account Musk’s excessive behavior, which can sometimes turn into hate speech.”

So far, Tesla and Warner Bros. have not commented on these accusations. Warner Bros. was the distributor of the film “Blade Runner 2049”, which was a major success in 2018 and won two Oscars, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The film is a sequel to the classic film “Blade Runner” released in 1982.

Alcon also revealed that they rejected a request from Warner Bros. to use images related to the company during the car unveiling event broadcasted live online on October 10th.
