Adobe launches new features powered by artificial intelligence

Adobe announced a new set of features powered by artificial intelligence in its “Creative Cloud” applications, focusing specifically on the popular photo editing software “Photoshop” during its annual conference “Adobe MAX”.

The company unveiled innovative tools like automatic background removal and the new version of the generative artificial intelligence model “Firedfly”. Additionally, updates were added to programs such as “Illustrator”, “InDesign”, and “Premiere Pro”, speeding up traditional tasks that previously required significant manual efforts.

One of the new features highlighted is the “Noise Removal” feature in the “Remove Tool”, which works similar to the “Magic Eraser” tool found in Google Pixel phones. This feature allows users to remove unwanted elements from pictures with a single touch, by automatically identifying common disruptive elements like people, wires, and cables and removing them, eliminating the need for manual selection.

The new feature is now available in the “Photoshop” application on desktop and web, with promises from Adobe to offer more features in the future. When using the tool, users can choose between using generative artificial intelligence (using the “Firedfly” model) or non-generative techniques, as well as an option that automatically determines the appropriate technique based on the image and scene to achieve the best results.

Photoshop now also includes tools such as “Content-Aware Fill” and “Content-Aware Move” and “Create Similar” and “Create Background”, which have been updated with the latest version of the “Firedfly” image model released in beta in April. According to Adobe, this update enhances the quality and diversity of outputs, as well as enhances the model’s understanding of complex instructions.

Additionally, Adobe added a new artificial intelligence-based feature to the web version of Photoshop, where it automatically detects all elements in the image to facilitate the editing process.

Furthermore, the “Illustrator” program was upgraded with a new feature called “Elements on Path”, allowing users to easily arrange and move elements on any specified path, providing greater flexibility for designers. The “Mockup tool” that allows for designing three-dimensional mockups is now available to everyone, with improvements in the “Image Trace” feature, which converts raster images in formats like JPEG, PNG, and PSD into vector images that can be resized without losing quality.

Additionally, the artificial intelligence model “Firedfly” has been integrated into the video editing program “Premiere Pro”, introducing the new “Content-Aware Move” feature for videos, which is currently in beta, with expectations of adding more features in the future.
