Activating the “Conversation Categories” feature to organize messages on Samsung phones

Samsung phones use the Samsung Messages app as their default messaging application, which comes with many cool and interesting features to enhance the messaging experience. However, one of the newly added features is the ability to categorize conversations into different categories. “Conversation Categories” provide an easy way to organize text messages into different categories. Traditionally, all messages appear in the same folder. But with categories, you can classify messages based on their nature. Activating Conversation Categories in Samsung Messages

So you need to enable them in the settings of the Samsung Messages app. By following these steps: First, go to the Samsung Messages app > Click on the three-dot icon at the top > Then select “Settings” > Now, turn on the switch next to “Conversation Categories”. Creating Conversation Categories in Samsung Messages
You can create new conversation categories in two ways; The first way: Create a conversation category directly from the main app screen after enabling conversation categories, Click on the (Add Category) icon at the top of the messages list > Then, type a name for your category in the popup screen that appears > When done, click the Done button. Now, you will be asked to select the conversations you want to add to this category > So click on the conversations to select them > Then click the Done button. The new category will then appear on the main screen of the app.
As for the second way: Create conversation categories from the settings of the Messages app; First, click on the three-dot icon > Select Settings > Then click on the Conversation Categories option next to the toggle switch. > Click on “Add Category” > Type the category name and click Done, then add the conversations you want to the new category. If you want to remove conversations from categories without deleting them, go to the specific category > Long press on the conversation you want to remove from the category > Click the “Remove from Category” button at the bottom > Then delete.
Rearranging Conversation Categories on the Main Screen
By default, categories in the Messages app are displayed in the order they were created. However, you can rearrange them to suit your needs. To change the position of any category, click on the three-dot icon in the Samsung Messages app > Select Settings > Click on “Conversation Categories” > Then click on the “Edit” button at the top. Renaming or Deleting Conversation Categories
Renaming or deleting existing conversation categories is easy, especially if you made a mistake in a specific category name. To rename or delete a conversation category in Samsung Messages, follow these steps: Click on the three-dot icon on the main screen of the Samsung Messages app > Select Settings from the menu > Click on Conversation Categories > Followed by the Edit button at the top > Click on the category you want to rename or delete. You will get Rename and Delete buttons at the bottom. Click Rename to change the category name and click Delete to delete the category completely. Or instead of clicking on “Edit”, click on the category name. You will see the Rename option. Use it to rename your category.
Disabling Conversation Categories in Samsung Messages
If you no longer want to display any categories on the main screen of the Messages app, you can disable conversation categories. By clicking on the three-dot icon on the main screen > Then Settings > Turn off the toggle switch next to “Conversation Categories”. By disabling conversation categories, all tab markers will disappear from the main screen.
However, no messages or categories will be deleted, but the messages that were within the categories will return to being part of the overall messages. If you decide to re-enable conversation categories, you will need to enable the toggle switch next to conversation categories in the settings of the Messages app, as we saw above.
