The new downloadable content for Alan Wake 2 seems to reveal our first look at Control 2.

Alan Wake 2 The new story expansion, AWE, is another short and scary adventure in the Remedy Connected Universe, but it also gives a first look at the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Control – and it’s easy to miss.
Remedy has created a connected world between its games, where the main players currently are Control and Alan Wake 2. Control started by dropping Easter eggs around Alan’s whereabouts before reintroducing him directly in a terrifying expansion. Meanwhile, Alan Wake 2 heavily features the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) and introduces new traditions on how everything works.
Players knew they would get more Control in the AWE DLC, which was released this week, but it wasn’t clear how much. It stars the character Ahti, who was introduced in Alan Wake 2 amidst a disaster at the nearby FBC facility. AWE explains what happened there, and it’s nothing great.
We won’t delve into details to avoid spoilers, but in an optional area, you’ll meet a character from Control and gain more insight into what to expect from Control 2 as well as some clues that will make your theories race.
The troublemakers for AWE DLC are showcased in the downloadable content (DLC) video and the rest of the article below.
Firstly, if you’re playing AWE – make sure to visit every floor in the facility where the elevator is located. The -4 floor is optional and easy to miss if you’re just following objectives, but visiting it will trigger a cryptic phrase. First, you’ll see a familiar light switch in one of the offices. Pull it three times, and you’ll be transported to the Oceanview Motel. From there, you’ll be transported to what resembles an older house, the place where Control takes place. Follow the hallway, and you’ll meet Dylan Faden, a villain from the first game.
It’s obvious that time has passed, as his hair has grown, but we learn some information from a short conversation. Firstly, four years have passed since the events of Control and calm has settled at the FBC headquarters in the meantime. Two, something is happening outside. In the next teaser trailer, you’ll see a collection of contrasting images, including empty city streets, whispers floating in an alleyway, and a figure wearing a cape standing on an upside-down building.
Remedy previously announced that they are working on two games set in the Control universe, with one likely being a direct sequel. Beyond Control 2, it also paves the way for FBC: Inferno, a cooperative PvE shooter game set to be released next year.
