Improving gaming performance on Intel graphics cards.

Certainly, we have reviewed a lot of topics related to games, graphics cards, and how to adjust graphics settings for the best gaming performance. But what about users with Intel integrated graphics cards, knowing that their performance is weaker compared to external graphics cards? We have already discussed the difference between internal and external graphics cards and which is better for you. But today, I will not tell you what is best; instead, I will tell you how to use and optimize your Intel integrated graphics card in your device to make it work very efficiently for games on your computer. Do not expect miracles, but there are many games that may not run on your computer now, or they may run but with lag. In that case, this topic will certainly help you.

Just like with Nvidia and AMD graphics cards, you always need to make sure to update your graphics card driver to enjoy better gaming performance and overall device performance. Companies usually release driver updates periodically to improve performance and optimize the use of the graphics card to its fullest potential. Therefore, updating the graphics card driver is an important and necessary task.

You can always download Intel’s Driver Update tool from Intel to automatically update your graphics card driver and identify it directly. This tool either identifies or updates the graphics card driver directly. However, if your laptop is from a company like Dell, you will need to download the update from the laptop’s manufacturer.

Now all you have to do is adjust the graphics card settings to the best possible state. You can access the graphics card settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Graphics Properties, then clicking on the 3D icon. You will find different settings that vary from one graphics card to another. Next to each setting, there is a question mark that you can click to understand the function of each specific option.

Using more RAM for the Integrated Graphics Card

Everyone knows that the integrated graphics card has a very small memory size and, in return, it allocates a portion of the RAM on the computer and treats it as video RAM. However, note that what the graphics card allocates from the RAM is not used for the computer. So, if you have 2GB of RAM and the graphics card allocates 1GB for itself, only 1GB will remain for the system, which could slow down your device.

In general, you can control the amount of RAM used for the graphics card through a specific setting in your BIOS. This will depend on the type and version of your BIOS. To access this setting, restart your computer, and press the Delete key or another key depending on your device.

Once on this screen, you need to look for settings related to integrated graphics options and search for the option to control the amount of RAM allocated to the graphics card and set it as you wish. Note that your BIOS may or may not have this option.

In general, while Nvidia and AMD graphics cards have software to automatically adjust settings, Intel does not have such tools available from the company yet. Therefore, you need to adjust the settings directly from within the games. You can access the graphics settings from within the game and adjust them to reach high quality with better performance without lag. Alternatively, you can press Auto Detect to have the game adjust the settings automatically, but unfortunately, this option is not available in all games.
