Microsoft Strikes Back Again, Exclusively Confirming Starfield as a Permanent Xbox Game for Players on PlayStation Devices.
Microsoft Strikes Again, Confirms Starfield Game Exclusive to Xbox Only
Over the past few months, particularly during the global E3 2021 event, we were treated to the first glimpses inside the game Starfield, the new title from Bethesda Studios. It was revealed for the first time during the event with the confirmation that the game will be available next year exclusively on Xbox Series and PC only.
However, PlayStation users had a glimmer of hope, despite Bethesda Studios becoming part of Microsoft a few months ago in a massive $1.7 billion acquisition deal. There was a slight hope among users of PlayStation 5 specifically, that they might see more future titles developed by Bethesda on Sony devices.
This was hinted at by Mr. Pete Hines, Vice President of Marketing at Bethesda, in an interview a few days ago when he stated that he is not sure exactly what will happen, but he believes there may be a way for PlayStation users to experience the game in the future. However, he added that he does not have enough data to confirm this.
This left the door open for such a possibility, especially since all Xbox officials have confirmed in statements that Starfield will be exclusive only to Xbox and PC upon its release. This was reiterated by Xbox marketing chief at Microsoft, Mr. Aaron Greenberg, who in a tweet on his Twitter account delivered a fresh blow to users eagerly anticipating the possible launch of Starfield on PlayStation 5.
Starfield will be launching exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 11, 2022. Game Pass members can play it day one as well on Xbox & PC. I know we have said this all before and none of that has or will change. pic.twitter.com/CcNBcOKBeg

He directly addressed those expecting the game to be available on PlayStation 5, confirming that since the announcement they have made it clear that it is coming exclusively to Xbox Series and PC and is not a timed exclusive but a permanent one on all devices. Subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass service will get to play it for free upon launch, reaffirming that they have been transparent from the start and there is no room for further debate on this.
Therefore, it can be said that the response was clear to those who expected the game to be available on a PlayStation 5, which in the future will likely deprive users of most new titles coming from Bethesda Studios, which have been part of Microsoft for only a few months. Best regards.
