Here are 5 Tips You Should Use in Google Chrome Browser.
If you are a loyal follower of the computer world, you may know that in my opinion, the best internet browser is Google Chrome for several reasons that I have explained in a previous topic. Therefore, during my daily use of it, I sometimes discover some features or advantages that I was not aware of before. Whenever there is a group of these advantages, I review them with you here for the benefit of everyone. We previously discussed 3 hidden features in Google Chrome that many do not know about, as well as a topic about my experience in making Google Chrome faster, which was a continuation of the special topic steps you need to take to maximize Google Chrome’s speed.
Recently, I noticed some additional features that I knew for the first time, and I think many have already tried them. Still, this does not prevent mentioning them in the following list so that others know them. Let’s start reviewing them.
1- Automatically Open Your Favorite Websites After Opening the Browser
Most users have favorite websites on the internet that they cannot go a day without visiting and browsing, like Facebook for some, or Google for searching for something. Therefore, after opening Google Chrome on your computer, you will navigate to these websites one by one, whether by searching for each of them or by clicking on them from the Bookmarks bar. However, the process can be time-consuming depending on the number of websites naturally.
In Google Chrome (and most other browsers), there is a feature called Startup Pages, which is exactly like programs that start working with Windows startup. The same happens with the browser, where you specify a group of your favorite websites, and later when you start the browser, they start appearing automatically and sequentially instead of going to each site individually, saving you time.
The steps to do this are simple. All you have to do is click on the menu button from the address bar at the top of the browser, then click on the settings option, and then click on the Set pages button under the On startup section to display a window where you enter the URLs of your favorite websites in the Add a new page box. After finishing, click OK, and from now on, every time you open the browser, these websites will open automatically.
2- Control Website Permissions
In Google Chrome, users can reject or allow permissions requested by websites, which is a way to protect the privacy of users so that no one can spy on you or bother you. For example, if you go to any website on Google Chrome, click on the “lock” icon to display a menu that includes all the permissions requested by the sites, such as allowing access to your geographic location, opening the webcam, microphone, displaying notifications, Flash content, pop-ups, etc. You can refuse access to any of these permissions if you want to protect your privacy and reduce annoyance by clicking on the Allow button to choose Block. Thus, the browser will not allow this site to access the permission you have blocked.
3- Add a Shortcut to Websites from the URLs!
Users can add a shortcut to their favorite websites or articles they want to browse and read later on the desktop in any other place. Indeed, this can be done in more than one way, perhaps the easiest of these ways is simply by selecting the link from the address bar in the browser, then dragging and dropping it to the desktop or any place outside the browser window as shown in the image above. Then a shortcut to this website or article will be created in the specified location, and by double-clicking on this shortcut, you will immediately be taken to it.
– Scroll Within Websites Without Touching the Mouse Wheel
You may think that the only way to scroll up and down within web pages on an internet browser is through the mouse wheel or the scroll bar usually located on one side of the website. In both cases, you will use the mouse to scroll. However, there is a special keyboard shortcut in Google Chrome that allows you to scroll up and down easily. By pressing the Spacebar key on the keyboard, you can scroll down gradually, and the same applies when clicking on the Shift key and the Spacebar together to scroll up.
5- The Secret Page!
This is not a secret page in the intended sense, as it is public, and anyone can access it. Still, it is hidden, and few will need it. It is the List of Chrome URLs page, which is a list that includes all the links for Google Chrome browser to access pages that are not displayed visibly to everyone as it includes important settings or is tailored for developers or for more extensive browser control. Therefore, you should browse these links as you like and discover more tricks in Google Chrome. As for how to access it, all you need to do is type “chrome://chrome-urls” in the address bar and press the Enter key to display a list of Google Chrome addresses and links.
