In her announcement of leaving OpenAI on Twitter, Murati mentioned that the company had changed the way AI systems tackle complex problems. She expressed her interest in exploring new and innovative ideas outside the framework of OpenAI.
Murati joined OpenAI in 2018 after experience at Tesla and Leap Motion, and was promoted to CTO in 2022. She also briefly served as interim CEO.
It is worth noting that several other executives at OpenAI have recently left the company, while the company announced raising six billion and six hundred million dollars in one of its largest funding rounds, reflecting the rapid growth and increasing interest in the field of artificial intelligence.
