Best Track Shortcuts in Fortnite Rocket Racing

Rocket Racing in Fortnite features a variety of tracks, ranging from beginners to experts, with different themes and obstacles. From the danger-filled Bone Cavern cave to the long and curvy K2 Raceway track, there are many tracks for players to race on while enjoying the beautiful landscapes. While all Rocket Racing tracks are different, they all share one common thing – shortcuts.

Track shortcuts allow racers to excel over competitors and reach the finish line first. Most of these shortcuts feature speed boost platforms, ensuring players finish races in the shortest time possible. Although track shortcuts are no secret in Rocket Racing in Fortnite, most players do not know which tracks contain the best shortcuts. Similarly, some shortcuts are highly hidden, making them difficult to find and use.

Knowing the best track shortcuts in Rocket Racing in Fortnite is crucial for excelling and finishing races in first place.

1. Airborne

Shortcuts on suspended and high tracks

Airborne is a beginner track in Rocket Racing with an expert version. This track is one of the easiest tracks for racing, designed with long curves and no tight angles. The Airborne track has several shortcuts for players, with the first located after the hill. These shortcuts are off the track, so players must veer to the right to reach them and get a speed boost from the boost platforms.

The next shortcut in Airborne is an airborne track with several speed boosters. A key tip in Rocket Racing when entering this track is to jump to make the vehicle fly and reach the upper track. Note that there are several suspended tracks in Airborne, and players can drive on all of them to avoid collisions with other vehicles. Since these suspended paths feature boosters, players have an extra speed advantage to reach the finish line.

2. Cliff Runner

Multiple shortcuts with boost platforms

Cliff Runner is one of the few tracks in Rocket Racing that contains multiple shortcuts throughout the map. However, Cliff Runner’s shortcuts are the most dangerous, as players face the risk of crashing into walls and respawning. The first shortcut is located after the first green loop, cutting a large part of the race, ensuring players make progress. This shortcut is a very narrow angle that is difficult to navigate, requiring players to slide at a sharp 90-degree angle.

It may take some attempts to master the shortcut, but once mastered, dealing with it becomes easier, and the rest of the shortcuts on this track are relatively easy. During the final stages of the track, choose the correct path off the track and not the tunnel, as the shortcut is much faster.

3. Puddle Jumper

Air tunnel shortcut

Puddle Jumper features multiple air tunnels that are shorter than the main track. These tunnels ensure vehicles surpass others, especially when jumping from them to the main track. Note that not all tunnels in Puddle Jumper are shortcuts, as some significantly slow down the player. For example, the first air tunnel on the track is actually slower than the main track, so avoid it at all costs. Instead, jump to the second tunnel to save a lot of time. Be cautious when jumping to the tunnel, as colliding with the edge results in player death and respawn. If the player dies, they can press the associated speed boost button to excel.

4. Anarchy Arches

Roof shortcuts

Anarchy Arches track allows players to defy gravity laws by driving their rocket-powered vehicles on the roof. Although driving on rooftops is not necessary to reach the finish line, it saves time for players on the main track. Most, if not all, rooftop tracks have speed boost platforms. Flying from rooftop tracks to the main track increases the vehicle’s speed.

Jumping to rooftop shortcuts in Anarchy Arches may take some time to master. Players must press the jump, slide, and accelerate buttons at the same time to make their vehicle flip and stick to the roof. To drive on the rooftop track, move the steering stick forward while pressing the Air Dodge button (Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, and Right Click on PC).

5. Dust Up

Multiple shortcuts on the wall

Dust Up is another map in Rocket Racing that contains multiple shortcuts scattered throughout the track. The first shortcut is located early on, right at the start of the race, where players must jump to the left road to reach it. This shortcut has speed boosters to advance the vehicle. To reach the left road, players must steer left while pressing the Air Dodge button. This moves the vehicle from the ground to the left wall. When taking the next shortcut, choose the inner left path as it contains more speed boosters compared to the right path.

Dusty Up 2 has more shortcuts, but as an expert map, the shortcuts on this map are more challenging for racing. The shortcuts are on the walls, requiring players to spend most of the time driving sideways rather than on the main track. The only drawback to wall shortcuts is that they are relatively short, so players must be quick to enter and exit easily. To unlock the Dusty Up 2 track, players must complete the Season Zero Kickoff tasks to level up and unlock more tracks.
