Events of FBC Firebreak Occur Several Years After the Events of Control

Remedy Entertainment’s Project Condor was recently revealed as FBC Firebreak, a cooperative first-person shooter game derived from Control. It is an interesting new direction for the studio, being the first multiplayer shooting game self-published by the company. In a community first look video, the team shares some new details about the development process.

It was also confirmed that the story of FBC Firebreak takes place years after the events of Control. As the first responders to the Federal Bureau of Control, players must deal with threats facing its main headquarters, Oldest House. Although this location is carried over from Control, it has been completely reimagined. The developer also discussed the sense of humor and ways to incorporate it into the game.

FBC: Firebreak will be released in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will launch on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, PlayStation Plus Extra, and Premium. Remedy is not following a live service model with this game but will release additional content post-launch. The cost is unknown but is described as “moderately priced”.
