Announcing the free release of the game FBC: Firebreak on PS Plus and Game Pass

Last night, during the Xbox’s Partner Preview event, it was announced that the game FBC: Firebreak will be available for free through the PS Plus and Game Pass services next year in 2025.

We knew previously that Remedy studio had several projects in development in their other game worlds like Alan Wake and Control. One of these projects that was revealed last night is the cooperative multiplayer shooter game FBC: Firebreak.

The game will be in first-person perspective and will rely on fast-paced shooting mechanics, revolving around a specialized group of fighters from the Federal Bureau of Control organization who are chosen to face an upcoming invasion from around the world.

This was a brief description of the game, which will be available from day one through the PS Plus Extra and Game Pass services. However, we did not receive any details about the fate of players who do not have subscriptions to these services, and whether they will need to purchase them separately or be forced to subscribe to either of these services in order to play the game.

The game director, Mike Kaihata, said in a press statement that with FBC: Firebreak, they have created a gameplay experience focused on cooperative play, including exciting elements and epic events that players can expect. He added that when the game was first presented to the Remedy management, they were looking to leverage the team’s experience in working and building worlds in a multiplayer cooperative environment from their previous games.

So far, there is no specific release date for the game FBC: Firebreak, except that it is coming sometime in the next year 2025 for next-gen consoles and PC.
