Samsung launches One UI update for televisions with new features

Samsung recently announced the release of the One UI user interface for its TV devices, after having launched it on Galaxy smartphones several years ago. At the recent developer conference, the company confirmed its plans to bring this interface to all its main product lines, including TVs.

Samsung has indeed started rolling out the One UI update for a selected number of TV devices, including those released in 2023. This update brings significant improvements to the user interface throughout the system, with the addition of the “For You” tab on the home screen, which includes personalized recommendations, as well as the new “Watch Later” list, which closely resembles what Google TV offers.

SamMobile reportedly was among the first to track the rollout process, presenting the complete changelog added by Samsung. The One UI experience offers users wide capabilities, providing a unique interface with personalized content, enhanced games, fitness features, and seamless connectivity across a variety of devices.

However, Samsung warns that some apps may not work correctly after the new Tizen update, version 8. Despite these warnings, the update is considered a welcome upgrade by many. Users can choose to install the update as soon as it arrives when the TV is turned off, or delay the update to a later time as they wish.
