PlayStation takes its game music around the world on a live tour
Sony continues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of PlayStation with a new series of musical concerts that will feature music from some of its most popular recent games around the world, starting from the UK and Europe in April next year.
PlayStation: The musical concert will include music from some of the best PS5 games: God of War, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and Horizon. It will also feature some high-tech production values. A PlayStation blog published on Tuesday said that the musical concerts will have “layered visuals” using LED lights and projections. While the blog does not specify the purpose they will be used for, the FAQs on the website say that they will showcase “memorable moments” from the standout games. The musical concerts will also include surround sound to create an “immersive” experience. So, essentially, it will have great sound, which most musical concerts should have anyway.
The series of musical concerts will kick off in Dublin, Ireland, on April 19, 2025, before moving across the rest of Europe, from Amsterdam to Paris, Hungary, Poland, and Norway, among other locations until May. The tour will eventually reach the United States and “beyond”, but no dates or locations have been announced yet, except for mentioning that it will continue until 2026.
Fans who can access one of the concert dates can purchase tickets starting from October 18, although using the code PLAYCONCERT24 will grant early access starting from Wednesday, October 16.
The official 30th anniversary of PlayStation is celebrated on December 3 to mark the release of the first PlayStation console in Japan. The company has already announced special edition consoles and accessories that evoke nostalgic gray tones of the origins, and offer gifts to players, such as My First GT and the best free demo of Gran Turismo, as well as unreleased digital sound bites. They also offer some board games for sale on their website that use PlayStation shapes (triangle, X, circle, and square) to create small experiences. Those will be released on December 9.
