How to solve the Jukebox puzzle in the remake of Silent Hill 2
The Silent Hill 2 remake is filled with puzzles, including the Jukebox puzzle in Silent Hill 2, located in the Neely’s Bar in South Vale. If you’re wondering what the solution to the Jukebox puzzle is, we’ll tell you how to solve it in detail in this Silent Hill 2 guide.
What is the solution to the Jukebox puzzle in Silent Hill 2?
After facing your first enemy in South Vale and returning outside, head towards Neely’s Bar near a body. Once you arrive there, you’ll find the Jukebox. This is the location of the puzzle you need to solve. Interacting with the Jukebox will reveal puzzle components, and you’ll also find a broken vinyl record half. You can learn more about the items needed to solve the Jukebox puzzle by reading the note called “Neely’s Bar Note” on the table. It points you to Groovy Music in the north and the apartments on Soul Street in the southwest, both marked on your map now. We’ll start by heading to the latter.
Location of the Jukebox Button in the Silent Hill 2 remake
Head southwest from Neely’s Bar to find the Soul Street Apartments on Soul Street. Enter through the red front door next to number “16,” and inside, after the reception, you’ll notice a map you can check. The Neely’s Bar Note tells us to go to apartment number “9” on the “3F” floor.
Below the hallway opposite the map is a room you can enter on the left, where you’ll find a syringe and a receipt. Return to the map and push the cabinet blocking your path to the left. This allows you to enter the office, where you’ll find the apartment key and a small note. It talks about a leak in apartment 5, where the key you just picked up is located.
Leave the office and go up to the 2F floor and head right. Directly before apartment number 7, there is a crawlspace on the floor that you can use, with another note on the desk next to the open window. This note is a renter’s note detailing something coming from another apartment in the building. Leave and head to apartment 5, using the apartment key to enter.
When you press through the hole in the wall, James will hear noise coming from the floor above. Press through the second hole in the wall, then climb out of the window onto an emergency exit ladder and head up. Climb through the window and search the opposite bathroom. You’ll find a hole in the wall, where James can reach his hand in. You have the option to delve into the hole 3 times, and you must do so each time. Finally, you’ll find the Jukebox button. You can now exit the Soul Street Apartments through the open rooftop on your left, then descend the ladder to street level.
When you return to the street, you can find more notes in Soul Street, around the yard with the cart: an old map, 3 Soul Street notes, and a car house note. You can now head to Groovy Music.
Locations of the Glue and Broken Vinyl Record in the Silent Hill 2 remake
After obtaining the Jukebox button, head north on Neely Street until you reach Groovy Music on your left. Enter and deal with the enemies inside. Once they’re defeated, get the note from the table called the Record Store Note. The rest of the room may appear empty, but you can actually break the glass along the back wall and access another room. On the table in the middle, you’ll find the vinyl glue and the other half of the broken vinyl record. Now you have all three items required for the Jukebox puzzle, open your inventory and organize the key items. Combine the broken vinyl record halves with the vinyl glue to get the labeled vinyl record.
Where to find the Neely’s Bar Coin?
The last item we need to solve this puzzle is located in Texas Cafe, situated on the eastern edge of Katz Street. Upon entering, get the healthy drink from the fridge behind the bar and interact with the cash vending machine. Turn the key then press the button at the bottom to get the Neely’s Bar coin. An enemy will immediately ambush you after doing so, defeat them and return to Neely’s Bar with all the items you need to solve the puzzle.
The final solution to the Jukebox puzzle in Silent Hill 2
When you return to Neely’s Bar with the labeled vinyl record, interact with the Jukebox button. Start by lowering the blue gear so the connected green and red gears can expand and accept the labeled vinyl record.
At this point, a stack of vinyl records will be lifted in the top part of the music box. Locate the missing labeled button and insert it into the music box button. Then, insert the Neely’s Bar coin into the flashing coin slot on the right.
Now, you need to select the blue C button on the top layer of buttons, then 2 on the lower layer. This will start the vinyl record, rewarding you with the Neely’s Bar key. And that concludes the music box puzzle.
