How to Download Nvidia Drivers Without GeForce Experience Application

Despite the fact that Nvidia application offers many features such as the ability to process and enhance graphics for PC games during gameplay, and also automatically searches for drivers and installs them, you still need to create an account on the GeForce Experience application and log in to access all the features it offers. Additionally, like any other software, Nvidia application can slow down your device, so some may prefer to avoid using Nvidia application and download drivers and updates manually. Therefore, in this article, we will explain how to download Nvidia drivers without using GeForce Experience.

To download a driver, you will need to know the version or model of your graphics card, the architecture of the Windows you are using (32-bit or 64-bit), and the type of driver you want to download. So, we will first show how to obtain this information and then explain how to download the drivers.

How to Identify Your Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

To download graphics card drivers without the Nvidia application and identify the GPU model of your device, you must have an Nvidia GPU for sure. To identify this on your device, open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc or by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting Task Manager.

Then, select the “Performance” tab from the window in front of you. If it does not appear, click on “More Details” to display all tabs; then select “GPU” from the sidebar and look for information about your GPU at the top of the Task Manager window.

How to Identify Your Windows Architecture (64-bit or 32-bit)

To check if you are using a 64-bit or 32-bit architecture of Windows 10, go to Settings, then System, and choose “About” from the sidebar. This way, you can identify the architecture of your Windows from the left side of the window in front of you. It is also worth mentioning that you can open the settings window through the Start menu or by pressing Win+i.

To download Nvidia drivers, you need to visit the official Nvidia website. Whether you go to the latest version of the website or the classic version, both are the same. In this example, we will download the “Game Ready Driver (GRD)” which includes significant improvements for the latest games. After filling in all fields, entering your device information, and selecting the drivers you want to download, click on the “Search” button as shown in the image below, and once the search is complete, download the drivers to your device.

How to Install Drivers Without Using GeForce Experience

After the device extracts the driver files, you will be asked to choose the type of installation you want. By default, the device will try to install the drivers through the NVIDIA GeForce Experience application, so make sure to select “NVIDIA Graphics Driver” to avoid installation through Nvidia application.

How to Uninstall GeForce Experience Application

If the NVIDIA GeForce Experience application is already installed on your device, you can uninstall it while leaving your drivers installed. To do this, simply go to the Control Panel, then go to Uninstall Programs, search for the GeForce Experience application, and uninstall it.
Now, you are responsible for updating your drivers. Updates will not be downloaded automatically or installed for you; these features require the presence of the GeForce Experience application. You can also rely on Windows updates, as Windows will automatically install the drivers for your graphics card. However, these drivers may not be the most up-to-date and suitable for the latest PC games, so getting the latest drivers is important for gamers. As for regular PC users, they can rely on automatic Windows updates instead of manually searching for the latest drivers.
