Halo Infinite Game to Get Third-Person Perspective Mode

During the 2024 Halo World Championship in Seattle, rumors surfaced that the game will be getting a third-person perspective mode next month.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that an update for the game will be released in November, introducing players to the ability to play in a shoulder view mode for the first time in the Halo series.
It is worth noting that the third-person perspective will be a standalone mode, as stated by the game’s Community Director John Junyszek, meaning players will not be able to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives directly but it will be determined from the start.
Junyszek added that it “will be a fun way to play where players will have a new view of the battlefield with their Spartan, and the developers are excited about this new perspective and look forward to it reaching players later this year.”
On the other hand, Skybox Labs Senior Software Engineer Colin Cove stated, “The team has put in a lot of effort to ensure accuracy in aiming.”
He added, “The camera position has changed drastically. The camera used to be on the character’s head and aiming was the same. Now the camera is behind the player, requiring them to focus on two types of controls at the same time, which requires a lot of effort to achieve.”
