The easiest ways to display battery charge percentage in the taskbar on Windows

If you are using Windows on a tablet or laptop, you will find a small icon next to the clock on the taskbar that shows the battery status (whether the charger is connected or not). However, moving the mouse pointer over this icon or clicking on it will allow you to see the battery charge percentage and the estimated time for using the device before connecting it to the charger or the remaining time to fully charge the battery. Here you might think! Wouldn’t it be better if there was an option to directly show the battery percentage on the taskbar, as is the case with smartphones? For some reason, Windows does not provide an option to do so, even in the new version, Windows 11. But instead of clicking on the battery icon every time to see the remaining charge percentage, you can add this indicator in very easy ways as we explain below.

Displaying the battery percentage on the taskbar is a great and important addition for many users of Windows laptops and tablets, as it allows you to quickly see the remaining battery life on the taskbar and thus determine whether you need to connect the charger to the device or if you can rely on the battery for the next period. The battery icon on the taskbar changes continuously to reflect the available power in the battery, but displaying the percentage is still the best option to accurately and clearly determine the level of charge, as in Android and iPhone smartphones.
Because Windows settings do not provide an option to do this, this article will guide you on two ways to display the battery percentage on the taskbar on Windows 10 or 11 using external tools. In fact, when we searched, we found that there are many of these tools, but according to our experience, both Battery Tracker and Battery Percentage Icon are the best for performing this task, so let us explain how to use them.
