American military laser identifies people’s identities from their heartbeats remotely up to 200 meters.
This system, which is still in its early stages, has already shown great effectiveness in its readings. Researchers say that when in good condition, the reliability in identifying individuals is about 95%. As explained in Technology Review, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology relies on laser technology to detect motion caused by heartbeats outside the body.
This biometric information is known as “heart signature.” Unlike other biometric variables, such as face recognition and even fingerprints, heart rate cannot be voluntarily changed or altered.
This laser has some limitations. On the one hand, as mentioned above, it works at distances of up to 200 meters. In this regard, the Pentagon stated that future versions of the laser will operate at greater distances. Additionally, you cannot identify individuals if they are wearing a lot of clothing, such as thick coats.

Experts anticipate the future use of this new technology for monitoring and other military tasks. Although it also supports other uses, especially in the health field. and indicate that, for example, monitoring patients wirelessly would be beneficial.
