Xiaomi prepares to launch its foldable mobile phone (with a 90Hz display)

Foldable mobile phones continue to gain presence in the market gradually. More and more companies are introducing their models to compete, and we have no doubt that they will become mainstream among users within a couple of years.

Xiaomi did the same thing a little over a month ago with the Mi Mix Fold, the first folding phone from the Chinese company. However, the tech giant doesn’t stop there and we already have news about what its successor could be. Xiaomi may be launching a foldable mobile phone with a 90Hz display soon and here are the details we know.

It is no secret that Xiaomi has been having a few golden months since the end of 2020. The first mobile phone with Snapdragon 888 was the Xiaomi Mi 11, which later received an Ultra version to become the ultimate king of DxOMark. In addition, the Redmi Note 10 phone is achieving success in the mid-range, not to mention their sub-brand with the Poco X3 Pro.

The truth is they are doing a great job, but the future is now and Xiaomi always wants more. Evidence of this is what was reported by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station on his Weibo account: Xiaomi is working on two new phones with codenames K8 and J18S, with the latter being a foldable mobile phone. The user did not provide full details about the appearance of this latest device, but mentioned some features.

Its internal screen will have a refresh rate of 90Hz, making it faster than the 60Hz internal display on the Mi Mix Fold and matching it with the speed of the external panel. On the other hand, the internal screen for the J18S phone will not have any holes or notches, as the front camera will be located beneath the screen.

Digital Chat Station also mentioned that this smartphone will have a triple rear camera setup similar to the Mi Mix Fold, including an extremely wide-angle 108-megapixel main sensor, an optical 3x zoom sensor, and a liquid lens.

Confirmation from Xiaomi regarding the launch of this phone soon is awaited so we can learn more about the other features it will offer.
