All the details we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 phone

However, today we are not here to talk about the Galaxy Z Flip 3, but rather to discuss the details of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Many users in the Arab region who love this phone are eager to know more about it and wish to be able to purchase it this time. Stay with us to read this article and you will have a comprehensive idea about the phone, including the official announcement date, details about the rear camera unit, front selfie camera, pricing expectations, and more.
Phone Design
The initial leaks that appeared on Twitter in May about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 did not bring many surprises, as it seemed that the phone comes with the same design as the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which appears open like a book and will be very similar to the current generation phone. However, there are significant differences worth mentioning.
It was clear that there is support for the S-Pen stylus and the tri-camera design on the back appeared thinner than the current generation phone and there is a punch-hole camera on the front screen, making it the second product line of Samsung phones without the “Note” series that also supports the S-Pen stylus.
Later, some new images of the phone appeared, confirming these details, but not confirming the support for the S-Pen stylus. Instead, they indicated the possibility of an S-Pen being included with the phone and that the pen will be shipped with the phone to consumers. This seems logical especially since Samsung did not provide a Note phone this year.
However, some new leaks appeared on the 91Mobiles website for the phone, indicating that there is no room to store the S-Pen stylus with the phone, meaning the possibility of including the pen with the phone decreased again. This means that there is no physical space in the phone to store the S-Pen stylus, and it is possible that the company follows the same approach it took with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone.
Phone Specifications
Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 phone passed through the Federal Communications Commission FCC showcasing many features expected to be part of the phone. These leaks confirmed that the phone already supports the S-Pen stylus feature, as well as UWB and NFC support, sub-6GHz and mmWave connectivity, 9W reverse charging, and there is support for MST technology required for Samsung Pay users.
Additionally, the Federal Communications Commission confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, and rumors – or rather, possibilities – suggest that this may be the high-performance Snapdragon 888 chip. It was later revealed that the phone only supports 25W charging. Some leaks that appeared later for the phone confirmed that the phone has received a high rating for water and dust resistance “IP68”, which is the current leading standard for all flagship phones.
As for the camera setup, leaks have shown us that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 phone has not received a significant upgrade in the rear camera unit and it contains the same camera setup as the current generation Z Fold 2, meaning there will be 3 sensors at the back with a resolution of 12 megapixels. At the same time, this means that the phone will not be able to capture 8K videos as it requires at least a 33-megapixel sensor to be able to capture and process 8K resolution.
It is likely that the front camera will be located under the foldable screen with a resolution of 16 megapixels, making the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 the first Samsung phone to come with a punch-hole camera under the screen at the front.
Price and Availability
Fortunately, Samsung has been very positive towards pricing its phones in 2021 so far, with the Galaxy S21 series coming at a lower price than the Galaxy S20 series. As for the foldable phones, the current generation Galaxy Z Fold 2 came with a price of $1,999, which is the same price as the previous version, Galaxy Fold. Predictions suggest that there is a high possibility that there will be no change in pricing.
However, since Samsung is trying as much as possible to compensate Note device users, there is a high chance they could slightly reduce the price to satisfy this user category. At the same time, the company may update its trade-in system for users who want to replace their current Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Fold phones with the new generation phone.
Despite all that has been said, there are rumors indicating that the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 phone will not be less than $2,388 for the 256GB storage version, and for the 512GB version, its price may reach $2,573. As for the phone’s release date, it will be soon once the phone is officially announced at the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event on August 11.
