Must-Try Android Apps of the Week [10/08/2018] as They are the Best
The week started feeling like short days, as yesterday was close and as usual, we bring you a selection of new Android applications. The focus is not only on the new applications, but also on carefully selected applications that are suitable for everyone. It’s okay to include paid applications as long as they offer unique capabilities. Last week, the best new Android applications [03/08/2018] included a variety of applications such as an augmented reality app, the new Mozilla browser, two utility apps, and an extremely fun racing game. This week, the new applications are as follows:
1. Picai:
The first application in this group is Picai, which falls under image processing and photography apps but with a completely different perspective. This app utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to suggest the perfect filter for your photos, analyze your photo gallery, and identify the best images. This way, you’ll have a gallery of standout shots without the hassle of manual selection. The app is available for free download.

2. Mei:
According to its description on the Play Store, Mei is the first messaging app of its kind with an embedded AI relationship assistant designed to help you in your text-based relationships. This app predicts things and alerts you when it senses specific things in the conversation. Unlike other personal assistant apps that focus on tasks, Mei is designed to provide actionable insights about your relationships that may not be readily available elsewhere or clear to you. The app is currently facing performance issues under certain conditions like low brightness, thin fonts, and colors in the dark, but the app team has indicated promising improvements in future updates.

3. AutoPick:
AutoPick allows you to digitally scan selective parts of text from a document and convert them into digital text. You just need to use a highlighting tool on what you want to scan first, then point the camera at the marked text, and finally scan and paste. This way, text can be selected from screens or paper documents. The app currently faces performance issues under certain conditions like low brightness, thin fonts, and colors in the dark, but the app team has indicated promising improvements in future updates.

4. HERE AR City Model:
Here AR City Model is a great app, but its function is limited to visualization only. It does not provide any real information. In other words, this app creates a possible model of how self-driving cars will operate in the future. You can print a city map and then point your device’s camera to it, and through the viewfinder, you will get an augmented reality version of the city with simulated driving vehicles. The app is available for free download on the Google Play Store.

5. Moment :
The last app in this group, after achieving great success on iOS, Moment is now available on the Android system. This powerful app in the field of photography is a robust camera equipped with manual control elements for ISO, shutter speed, and focus. It includes advanced features like live histogram, RAW images, horizon level indicator, and even support for capturing aerial content such as “drone”. The app is not free, it is available for download for $1.99, and in our opinion, it is worth the price.
