Benefits of the new Apple One service and how to subscribe to it

Apple offers a variety of services as part of its products alongside smart devices, and the company has increased its investment in subscription-based services over the years due to the huge profits it earns from this sector. Serving millions of users, Apple offers many things such as high-quality games from Apple Arcade, songs and music from Apple Music, original movies and TV shows from Apple TV+, and cloud storage on iCloud.

All of these services generate huge revenues for Apple annually, and the company did not stop there. During its annual event in early 2020, the company announced a new service called Apple One, which is essentially a “bundle” that includes all of Apple’s existing services in one package at a fixed price. since it was officially launched in more than 100 countries, let’s take a look at the features of Apple One and whether it is worth subscribing to or not.

The Apple One service simply aims to provide access to Apple’s services “in bulk” for a lower cost. This means paying a single monthly subscription to access more than one service at the same time instead of subscribing to each service from Apple separately. Therefore, the service targets those who are already subscribed to more than one Apple service, as the “Apple One” subscription saves some money monthly while enjoying more Apple services. However, you do not need to subscribe if you only use one service from Apple.

You may have noticed the mention of “Apple services” more than once here, what are the services included in the Apple One subscription? Currently, Apple offers six services, all included in the “Apple One” package, but the number of services you receive depends on the pricing plan you choose. The services are Apple Music, iCloud, +Apple TV, Apple Arcade, +Apple News, and +Apple Fitness. The latter is the latest service launched by Apple in 2020 and can be obtained independently like the rest of the services or as part of the Premier plan, which we will discuss later.

If you have not heard or read about any of these services before, here is a quick look at each service and what it offers to subscribers, so you get an idea of what you will get by subscribing to Apple One:

1- Apple Music: A music service that is considered the number one competitor to Spotify, providing access to a huge library of over 60 million songs from around the world, and allows access to favorite songs and music on all your devices, whether from Apple or others, as there is an application for the service on Google Play, in addition to website .

2- Apple Arcade: A service that gives you access to more than 100 top-level games designed to work on iPhone, iPad, and even Apple TV and Mac devices. All games are ad-free and do not contain in-app purchases. 3- +Apple TV: Among Apple’s entertainment means, where it offers you a variety of series, TV shows, and movies to watch online or offline without ads like Netflix, but almost all of its content is Apple-produced, and it is called Apple Originals.

4- +Apple News: With this service, subscribers can access their favorite magazines and paid content from some major news sites from their iPhone or iPad, and it includes audio stories so you can listen to the latest news on the go. Unfortunately, the service is very limited and only available in four countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

5- iCloud: Perhaps one of the most important Apple services, where iCloud has been integrated into every Apple device to store almost everything – your photos, videos, notes, settings, passwords, backups of this data, and more – all in the cloud, instead of local storage. In general, anyone with an Apple account (Apple ID) gets 5 gigabytes of iCloud storage for free, but if you need more storage capacity, you can do so for a monthly subscription fee.

6- +Fitness: As mentioned, the latest service from Apple and it will be launched soon before the end of 2020. The service hosts 10 different types of sports exercises, whether for yoga, cycling, running, and more for all skill levels. However, it is said that the service will not be available universally in all countries like +Apple News.

Now that you have quickly learned about Apple’s diverse services, let’s talk about the cost of subscribing to the new Apple One service and what each plan offers from different pricing plans.

Apple One offers three different pricing plans: Individual for one person, Family for the family, and the Premier plan for those who want all services, so it is only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, except that there are only two plans, the first and the second and prices vary by each country .

For the first plan (Individual), it includes only 4 services for one person, which are: Apple Music, +Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and additional storage space in iCloud with a capacity of 50 gigabytes. The plan comes at a price of $14.95 or 127.99 Egyptian pounds monthly.

If you want all of these services, let me tell you that this plan will save you approximately $6 or about 100 Egyptian pounds monthly. In total, these services will cost $20.96 or approximately 230 Egyptian pounds if you subscribe to each service separately, as the subscription prices for Apple’s individual services come as follows:

• Apple Music: Costs $10 or 50 Egyptian pounds per month.
• + Apple TV: Costs $5 or 80 Egyptian pounds per month.
• Apple Arcade: Costs $5 or 80 Egyptian pounds per month.
• 50 gigabytes of storage on iCloud Costs $1 or 19 Egyptian pounds per month.

As for the second plan (Family), it offers the same four services included in the first plan with a difference in the additional storage capacity, as this plan gives you 200 gigabytes of storage on iCloud in addition to allowing you to share services with six family members, and it comes at a price of $19.95 or 173 Egyptian pounds per month.

The plan offers savings of $7.97 or about 117 Egyptian pounds per month, so the total cost of these services is $27.92 or 290 Egyptian pounds per month when subscribing to each service separately or separately. Therefore, if you want all of these services for several people, this is a good saving, as the cost of the family subscription for each Apple service is as follows:

Finally, there is the Premier plan, which comes at a price of $29.95 per month and includes all of Apple’s services for six family members, including Apple Music, +Apple TV, Apple Arcade, +Apple News, +Fitness, in addition to 2 terabytes in iCloud. In total, these services will cost $54.90 separately, and therefore, this is a saving of $24.95 per month, making it a great deal if you want all subscription services at one price.

In the end, the choice of plan depends on the services you need and want to subscribe to. But perhaps the most important service that Apple device users may be interested in is iCloud and the additional storage capacities provided by the Apple One service as they are required for those who store thousands of photos and videos, as it is the only way to expand storage space on the iPhone or iPad in case the local memory is full.

Fortunately, you can get a 30-day free trial of the Apple One service, but note that the free trial is limited to one of the Apple One plans and the services you have not previously subscribed to. Once the trial period ends, the subscription will automatically renew according to the plan you chose as a monthly subscription, with the option to also cancel the subscription at any time before the renewal date.

All you have to do initially is go to Settings and then click on your Apple ID profile name at the top, then go to the Subscriptions section.

On the next page, you will see an offer to subscribe to Apple One at the top of the screen, so click on the Try It Now option and choose the plan that suits you from the two plans, Individual and Family, then click on the Start Free Trial button.

A pop-up menu will appear to confirm your desire to start subscribing to the Apple One service, as well as the subscription policy and the price of the plan and when it is time to renew. To confirm, use the Touch ID feature to read your fingerprint if you have an iPhone or iPad with a Home button or press the power button twice if you have an iPhone X or later.
