Top 6 New Features We Will See in the Upcoming Windows 10 Update

Version 1809 is the next release that Microsoft will provide for Windows 10 after the April 2018 update. As we know, a major new update is released for the system every six months, so it is expected that this version will be officially launched in a few months. This sixth update will provide a huge number of changes and visual features that help you customize the system, enhance security, and increase productivity. However, in this article, we will only focus on the top 6 features and improvements that you can see after updating to this new version.

Dark Mode for File Explorer
Starting with version 1809, once you enable the dark mode from the customization settings in Windows 10, you will notice that this mode is also applied to the default File Explorer tool for file management in the Windows operating system. In the current version, activating this mode keeps the File Explorer tool as usual without any changes, but now the main interface of the tool, menus, and input fields are all in dark color. However, in the current preview version, it is not complete yet; while all elements may turn dark when the update reaches the stable version.
Screen Sketch Tool – A New Way to Capture Screenshots
The new 1809 version of Windows 10 offers a new experience for capturing screenshots, replacing the old Snipping Tool with Screen Sketch (previously part of Windows Ink Workspace) with additional improvements. Now you can press Windows key + Shift + S together to display the toolbar and select the method for capturing the screenshot from 3 different options. After capturing the screenshot, it will be displayed in the editing tool where you can make some adjustments before saving it on the computer. This tool is much more advanced than the old one available in Snipping Tool.
Your Phone Feature
Although still in development, Your Phone is one of the best new features you will find in the new version of Windows 10. Your Phone feature integrates your smartphone more with your computer, allowing you to access texts, images, and notifications on your phone from your computer wirelessly and synchronously. Your Phone is expected to support both iPhone and Android devices, but currently, the Your Phone app is only available for Android devices with limited features as it is in a trial phase.
Clipboard Management in Windows
As we know, you can copy texts, images, and files in Windows and save them in the Clipboard for easy pasting elsewhere. However, in the past, you could not manage the Clipboard to, for example, re-copy an item you had copied earlier, and thus needed to download an external Clipboard Manager tool. In version 1809, you will not need these tools, as you can simply press Windows key + V together to display a pop-up window showing a history of all items copied during the Windows session. You can click on any item to re-copy and paste it into the input field or even pin any item to keep it permanently in the history without being deleted.

Adjust Text Size in the System
In very old versions of Windows 10, you could change the font size for each element in the system, such as File Explorer, Start menu, Settings, Control Panel, and within applications as well. However, this option was suddenly removed in newer versions of Windows 10. Starting with version 1809, you will be able to do the same thing once again through the new setting added to the Display section within the Settings app. This feature is important, especially for users who need to read text more clearly on large computer screens.
Improved Search Experience from the Taskbar

In the new version of Windows 10, Microsoft has made some significant changes to the built-in search field in the taskbar. Starting from version 1809, users will be able to see a preview of search results within the results field to quickly view information without the need to open a web browser. Also, common actions that may be needed will be displayed, for example, when searching for a program from the search bar, options to run the program as an administrator, view information about the program, copy the path, and more will appear on the right side.
