How to Control Your Phone Without Touching It Using Your Face: Android Now Allows You to Do It

Android 12 is very close, and as expected, the Google Pixel 6, which will arrive in the fall, will be the first device to get a glimpse of this version, which integrates the most exciting aspects such as its design changes or its new privacy panel.

The new version of Android also brings some changes in terms of accessibility, as Google was planning to include an option in Android 12 (also available in Android 11) through installing APK – allowing control of the phone using facial gestures that inform the phone about what to do.

These gestures were discovered by users of XDA Developers on Google Pixel after installing the beta version of Android 12, so it’s not clear whether this feature will be available to all users or if it’s exclusive to Google’s mobile phones.

The option to activate face gesture detection in Android 12 can be found under Switch Access in Accessibility, where a set of actions for different gestures can be customized.

According to XDA, users of Android 11 can already test this feature by installing the app. If not, you can either wait for Android 12 to arrive or install its beta version, scheduled for the fall months when the Google Pixel 6 will be unveiled, being among the first to have this new version of Android.

To get this feature without waiting for Android 12, there are apps on the Google Play like this one: EVA Facial
