7 Features You Must Know in Samsung Calculator App
Samsung phones have many amazing features and capabilities that make them a preferred choice for many people when they need to buy a new smartphone. The One UI interface and the Bixby virtual assistant, for example, are among the most famous and prominent applications and tools that set Samsung phones apart and offer a unique user experience. Even for basic applications that may be present in any other smartphone, Galaxy phones usually come loaded with many additional features and enhanced capabilities.
We have previously discussed the important features included in the Samsung camera application, as well as the “My Files” and “Gallery” applications. In this article, we will highlight a set of important features available in the calculator application, which some may not be aware of, along with an explanation of how to use them.
1 Unit Conversion Tool
Units of measurement used may vary from country to country. For example, let’s say you traveled to the United States and went to a gas station to fill your car tank with three gallons of fuel, costing you about $12. Now, you want to compare fuel prices in the United States with those in Egypt, but you notice that the unit of liquid volume used in the United States, which is the gallon, differs from the unit of liquid volume commonly used in Egypt, which is the liter.
Standardizing units of measurement is a necessary step to obtain accurate results when calculating quantities such as volumes, weights, dimensions, areas, temperatures, etc. In most cases, this requires either being familiar with conversion equations, having modern and advanced calculators, or using a search engine like Google or dedicated websites or apps for unit conversion. However, with a Samsung phone, there is no need for all this, as the Samsung calculator app includes a built-in unit conversion tool.
The built-in unit conversion tool in the Samsung calculator app can be used by pressing the ruler button at the bottom of the writing area directly, selecting the quantity to be calculated from the top bar, and choosing the units to convert from and to by pressing the drop-down menu buttons next to the measurement units. This tool can also calculate product prices if there is a discount when purchasing, or calculate the added service charge (tip) when paying bills at cafés and restaurants by selecting the Tip option from the top bar, so this tool is useful and suitable for many daily uses.

2 Copy, Paste, and Share Results
The Samsung calculator app allows users to copy, paste, and share calculations and equations in a very easy way, saving the user time and effort when transferring numbers and results to another document or website on the phone instead of rewriting them manually.
For example, if you want to copy the price of a gram of gold from a website or app that displays daily gold prices to calculate the price of a certain quantity of gold grams, all you have to do is hover over the number and select it, then press the “copy” option. Next, go to the calculator app and long-press in the blank writing area, then select the “paste” option, and perform the necessary calculations on this number.
You can reverse these steps if you want to copy and paste the results of the calculations to another website or app on the phone. In that case, hover over the number and long-press while dragging the cursor to select the complete number, then press “copy,” and then long-press in the desired location to paste the number, then press “paste.”
You can also share the results, calculations, and equations from within the calculator app on other apps like WhatsApp directly, instead of using the copy and paste tools or rewriting the numbers and equations manually, by selecting the number or equation to be shared, then clicking on the “share” option and selecting the app or site you want to share the number or equation with from the list.
3 Retaining Previous Results and Numbers
The Samsung calculator app stores all previous calculations and equations in a special log, making it easy to retrieve them when needed to remember or use them in subsequent calculations. This feature saves the user time and effort instead of rewriting equations and repeating calculation steps multiple times or writing down results on external paper or another app. This feature is particularly useful when doing tax calculations and mathematical problems that involve interrelated calculations.
You can access the log and recall previous equations and calculations and their results easily by clicking on the “history” button at the bottom of the writing area directly (which appears like a clock). If you need to clear the history of recent calculations to free up phone memory space, you can easily do so by opening the log in the same way mentioned just now and then clicking on the “clear history” button at the bottom of the saved numbers list, then you can start new calculations unrelated to the previous ones, and you can also copy any results from the log.
4 Scientific Calculator Tools
The use of the built-in calculator app on Samsung phones is not limited to simple arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the application can perform more complex mathematical operations such as solving equations and mathematical problems that involve trigonometric functions, roots, mathematical powers, algebraic fractions, and logarithms like any advanced calculator. However, this will require activating the “scientific mode” by pressing the “scientific mode” button at the bottom of the writing area directly, which appears as a square with division and addition signs.
5 Using Bixby Assistant to Operate the Calculator
One of the amazing things about the calculator app included in Samsung Galaxy phones is the ability to use the distinctive Samsung virtual assistant, Bixby, to operate and use the calculator app when needed to perform urgent calculations while driving, carrying things, or in other situations that may prevent the user from opening and operating the app manually.
This can be done simply by saying “Hey Bixby” to summon the Samsung virtual assistant, then ask the required question or spell out the mathematical equation to be answered, such as “What is the product of 50 and 190,” or “Convert a temperature of 12 Fahrenheit to Celsius.”
6 Displaying the Calculator with Another App
Some tasks that require data collection and management tools, such as “Google Sheets,” may require quick access to a high-efficiency, advanced calculator application to perform the necessary calculations on that data, along with the ability to write them in the sheets simultaneously. In reality, it can be
