7 Common Mistakes You Make on Your Computer and Should Stop Now

Many mistakes and misconceptions can lead you to do them without knowing about them, and we have clarified some of them through several topics, such as the one in which we reviewed 3 tools to speed up the computer but slow down the computer to clarify this issue. But there are many other mistakes that I always try to mention through the topics and through the lines of the topics and repeat them constantly so that everyone does not do them. So through this topic, we want to shed light on some of these mistakes that I believe it is important to mention so that everyone stops doing them.

1. Repeating the disk defragmentation process:

Some believe that defragmentation significantly contributes to speeding up the computer, and it is indeed important but the assumptions in its use are definitely not correct. We have in a comprehensive topic reviewed a complete response to the question of whether defragmentation should be done to speed up the computer, and you will need to review the topic. Defragmentation is the process of rearranging data on the storage unit and unifying the fragmented data so that the computer can run them more effectively and efficiently. Imagine repeating this process daily!

On the other hand, the defragmentation process is no longer as effective as we mentioned before in the referred topic, and that Windows now performs this operation on a scheduled basis, and you do not need it in the first place. Therefore, stop doing it daily.

2. Paid programs that come with the laptop for a limited time:

Surely, you buy a laptop and then enter to find out what paid programs you have received for free for a year, for example, a security program (….) that is paid is free for a year! So you install it to find a lot of ads and pop-ups, I want to tell you that most of these programs pay the laptop manufacturer company to promote these programs on the device. You can try them definitely then delete them, but do not rely on them in any way. Unlike Microsoft products such as genuine Windows for example or the Office suite or others.

3. Pirated protection software and Windows:

In a previous topic, we reviewed the difference between genuine Windows and pirated Windows in a complete topic, but the issue extends to pirated software in general that you get for free, which are originally paid for through rights infringement methods and what I am talking about here are software that you download to crack the paid program to make it free. If you download the paid version displayed for free for a specified period from the original company and then use a serial or some method to activate the program, this is illegal but it will not harm you. If you download the program from a torrent or any source on the internet other than the official website of the program and then use a crack or patch or other to activate the program, how do you know that the creator of this software did not add code to spy on your device or harm it. You can check the files before downloading them to make sure they are safe first.

4. Obsession with increasing RAM on the computer:

I have direct knowledge of a person who has an obsession with buying more RAM and has reached a total of 16 GB in his device. The question is, do you really need this increase and this amount of RAM to be in your device? We have answered the question before whether you need to increase the RAM size on your device to make it faster. I advise you to check the answer to learn if increasing your RAM will actually improve your computer’s performance or not. You can know that before paying more money to buy RAM that will not affect your device. You can also check the topic on computer components that need to be upgraded to speed up the computer to know the necessary upgrade for you instead of RAM.

5. Quick installation of programs on your device:

Now you have downloaded the program, then you run it, then you click Next, then Next, then Next … to Finish without reading or noticing the windows. Do you know that there is something called adware, which are programs attached to programs that are installed, and you need to agree to them to be installed? So why do you agree to something that is of no value to you, so focus during program installation. There are also browser toolbars that are also installed with programs, and the most famous software for such matters are Chinese software like Baidu and others. So be careful during installation and follow the steps with some caution.

6. Running more than one protection program on the same device:

I will repeat this warning forever. Running more than one protection program on the same device will not intensively protect your device but will have a negative impact. Let me clarify a point that I have not mentioned before, which is that the conflict between these programs in the protection process, not the removal, is what is meant here. In other words, Real-Time Protection is what causes the problem, but if you install a protection program with a scanning and removal program, there is no problem in that. So before running multiple programs, make sure first that one of them does not have the Real-Time Protection feature, which is the protection feature.

7. Clicking on any link and downloading from it:

We posted a warning on our Facebook page days ago about downloading any program that appears in a pop-up window telling you that you should download this program to make the video work. So do not click on a link you meet, only links from trusted sources and websites or emails that reach you from people you already know.
