5 Simple Ways to Easily Take Screenshots on Your Computer Without Using Any Software

Capturing screenshots, or what is commonly referred to as screenshots, is essential. A screenshot plays a critical role in creating user guides for software, as well as technical instructional guides. Sometimes it is necessary to show someone on a computer or phone screen. In this post, we will discuss five ways you can easily capture screenshots on a Windows 10 interface.

1- Windows + PrtScr:
If you press Windows + PrtScr, the entire screen will be captured and saved in the Pictures > Captures folder. You do not need to perform additional steps as you would only need to press the specified key combination to take the screenshot and save it to the hard drive.

2- Window + Shift + S :
In the previous method, you cannot select a specific part to capture a screenshot of that part. This is usually done through third-party software, but Windows 10 allows for it. Simply press Window + Shift + S at the same time. Then open MS Paint and paste using Ctrl + V.
You will notice that the screen dims while pressing this key combination, and the cursor turns into a large plus sign. Now, click the left mouse button, drag to create a snapshot of the part while holding down the left mouse button, and release the mouse, and the selection will be made normally.

When pasted into MS Paint, that selected area will be copied there:

3- Use the PrtScr key :
This is the easiest way to capture a portion of the screen or the entire screen on your computer. Press the Prtscr key, then open MS Paint, and press Ctrl + V. You will see that the screen in front of you when you press the PrtScr key is now pasted on MS Paint.

Although it is the easiest way to capture screenshots, you cannot capture a portion of the screen using this method because it captures the entire screen.
4- Windows + Shift + F :
If you are using the 1803 version of Windows 10 or what is known as the April 2018 update, you can capture a screenshot by pressing Windows + Shift + F once. You will also see a toolbar that allows you to choose the selection mode for taking screenshots.

5- Snipping Tool :
The Snipping Tool comes installed with your Windows 10 installation, which you can find by typing Snipping Tool in the search box on the taskbar. You do not need any assistance from MS Paint when using this tool. Just type its name in the search box, and it will appear.

The Snipping Tool will appear in this way:

Click on “New” and select the area using the selection. As long as you release the mouse button, the selected area in the tool will look like this:
