5 Browser Add-Ons I Can’t Stop Using Daily at Work
No one can deny that Google Chrome is the most popular internet browser in the world and the most widely used. Another advantage is that it supports the most amazing extensions that help us manage our work and make our lives easier online. Today, I will share my experience with the top 5 extensions that I need daily during work and never stop using. These extensions are available on other browsers based on the Chromium platform. So, it’s not a problem if you prefer working on Firefox, Opera, or Edge.
1- +Hover Zoom
I have been using the Hover Zoom+ extension for a long time and still use it. This extension allows you to see the full size of the image simply by hovering your mouse pointer over the image without clicking on anything, with one condition: these sites must support wide image display feature. You will find it very useful on most websites you visit daily, such as Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Google Images, YouTube, and many others. It’s a great trick to view image details without having to open it in a separate page. This way, it saves you time and saves internet data in the long run.
2- Magic Actions
While there are thousands of extensions dedicated to YouTube specifically, I find the Magic Actions extension to be truly magical and the best custom extension that allows you to customize YouTube in a wonderful way and spend your time better on it. The functions range from secondary to essential, including controlling the volume level with the mouse scroll wheel, color filters, night and day display modes, auto-playing high-quality videos, capturing snapshots with one click, comprehensive information about the video, and many other useful functions that you will use daily while on YouTube. You will completely forget about the basic functions of YouTube and start relying on Magic Action.
3- LastPass
Another great add-on that relieves you of the hassle of logging into multiple websites and creating multiple accounts. This extension is one of the best password management extensions and keeps them secure. After installing it, you just need to remember one password, which is the master password for the LastPass extension, and then the extension will keep all your passwords for your accounts on other websites once you type them only once.
Its other features include syncing accounts across multiple devices such as smartphones and tablets, support for fingerprints, and even two-factor authentication to provide an additional layer of security. It’s a fantastic add-on that you can’t do without. The only downside is that it’s free for only one month, but you will prefer to upgrade to the paid version inevitably.
4- Save to Pocket
Why might you need an add-on like Save to Pocket even though any browser allows you to bookmark a page you want to keep? The idea behind this extension is that it helps you keep pages that you feel are more important than just keeping them in your browser bookmarks. It doesn’t save everything you see at once on your current device, but also on many other connected devices. You can keep some pages on your computer and then read them on your iPad later. It provides you with a personalized page and a pop-up window showing you the details of the pages you keep. It is definitely better than the default browser bookmarks.
5- Pushbullet
This add-on will consolidate all your personal devices in one place, and you will have the ability to transfer anything from one device to another very easily. You will receive your phone messages, new notifications, and emails on the computer as soon as you receive them on your phone. You can also send text messages from the computer instead of the phone. Once you receive a new message or notification, you will get a pop-up window on the computer indicating that. This way, you won’t need to access your phone while focusing on work on the computer, and it will greatly help save your phone’s battery life since you rarely need to access or use the phone.
