That number is a serial code for your phone, and that number is never repeated with other phones. Each phone is distinguished by a specific number assigned by the company, which consists of two series: IMEI 1 and IMEI 2. The role of that number lies in expressing the identity of the phone and providing you with a lot of information about the phone, such as the manufacturing date and the country of manufacture. There are many features because of this unique number. The first feature is that it is required for the SIM card in the phone to function, and the second feature, built upon the first, is to protect the phone from theft. In case your phone is stolen, it can be tracked through that number known only to the phone owner. The second step is how to find this code or number specific to your phone. Most of the time, this number is written on the phone’s box or on the phone’s battery if it is not removable. But if the phone box is lost and the IMEI number is not written on the phone’s battery, you will need to use one of the following methods to know the IMEI number of your phone.
First Method
This method is the fastest and most time-efficient by far. You only need to use one of the phone dialing codes to display the IMEI number of your phone. This can be done by opening the dialer interface and typing the code #06#, then after typing that code and pressing the call key, you will notice the appearance of a message showing you two series of numbers. That is the IMEI number of the phone you own. You just need to keep it by taking a picture of it or writing it down.
Second Method
The simplest step where you do not need to write any codes or use external applications and programs. You just need to go to Settings, then go to About Phone. You can then search for the word IMEI. If you do not find it, you can go to phone status and search for IMEI. Press it to display the phone’s number.
Third Method
Another method you can try is by using your Google account. You only need to link your Google account with the phone you want to know its IMEI, then go to Google Dashboard and search for the word Android. Click on it, and it will display a lot of information about the phone associated with the same Google account, including the IMEI number.
– Changing the IMEI number
If you want to change that number, you will need some applications to do so. Also, if you are having trouble with the SIM card, the reason may be the IMEI number, so you may need to change it sometimes. However, we recommend that you should not do so unless you really need to change it, as it can strongly affect the police’s ability to track your phone in case of theft.
