13 Tips you MUST Know Before Starting Metaphor: ReFantazio to Become a Pro – Part One

The game Metaphor: ReFantazio offers a wonderful experience similar to the Persona series, but in a fantasy world. The large amount of content available in the game, combined with a limited number of days in the game to complete tasks, means that if you want to do everything in one gaming session, you must be efficient in managing your time.

In the game, there are many activities available such as forging friendships, cooking, cleaning, and exploring dungeons, which add great challenges and fun to your journey against the villain Count Louis. To help you make the most of your time in the kingdom of Euchronia, the article provides a list of tips and tricks that can help you start off well in the Grand Trad area.

1- Manage Your Money Well

The game Metaphor has several currencies that need to be tracked during gameplay. The main currency is the reeve (money) which is used to purchase weapons, armor, potions, and other items.

In the kingdom of Euchronia, the week consists of five days. You must make sure to shop on the fifth day, Idlesday, where the entire kingdom offers discounts on products. The days with discounts are also marked on your calendar in the main menu.

If you are running low on reeve, you can sell the items you own, defeat enemies, or sell the second currency, MAG.

MAG stands for Magla. You can obtain MAG through various ways, including combat rewards, saying the right things in conversations, and interacting with King’s Rock once daily after completing the prologue to receive MAG.

However, should you spend MAG to get more reeve? The answer is no, unless it is absolutely necessary, as the real use of MAG is in unlocking new Archetypes and their abilities.

2- Try Different Archetypes

In the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, players can try and customize Archetypes, which are combat or role-playing characters that your team members possess. This system is somewhat similar to the Persona system in other Atlus games.

Each team member starts by unlocking one Archetype, such as Soldier, Knight, or Wizard. As you progress in the game, you can unlock stronger Archetypes, such as Gunner, which provides long-range attacks that can be used in combat or when exploring dungeons.

When a new Archetype is unlocked and added to one of your team members, other team members can also learn it. This provides great flexibility in battles, but teaching team members new Archetypes comes at a high cost, sometimes up to tens of thousands of MAG. Over time, you can earn discounts as part of friendship bonuses, so you can wait for these discounts if you want to save on costs.

However, some Archetypes are clearly the best, and unlocking the ultimate Archetype (known as the “Royal Version”) requires completing 2-3 skill trees per character.

The skill tree system in RPGs allows players to develop character skills and abilities in a branching manner. Each character has a unique skill tree containing multiple branches of abilities that can be chosen based on gameplay style.

In other words, the skill tree is a graphical representation of the character’s skill development path, where each character has a unique skill tree containing multiple branches of abilities that can be chosen based on your playstyle.

3- Inherit Skills from Other Archetypes

Strohl (Archetype) has a Warrior-specific Archetype that focuses on physical combat rather than magical. Although you can transform Strohl into a Mage, you will lose the combat abilities it has as a Warrior.

Fortunately, you can overcome this issue. When Strohl learns an ability in one of the Archetypes, you can pay MAG to unlock this ability for the rest of the character’s Archetypes. For example, the Bot ability is a fire-based attack but weak in power or impact, and as you progress in the game, you also learn other abilities such as Blizz (ice attack) and Kande (lightning attack).

You can pay a small amount of 500 MAG to unlock these skills for use in all the other Archetypes that Strohl possesses. Once you pay this amount, these abilities become permanently available to him.

However, note that this unlocking is specific to the individual character, not all team members, so it may require you to pay large amounts of MAG if you want all team members to learn powerful skills, as some skills cost up to 28,000 MAG.

You can add up to four skills to each of your character’s Archetypes by increasing your relationship level with the Follower associated with the character.
